A man who left his partner’s two-year-old son with more than 100 injuries before murdering him has been jailed for life with a minimum of 21 years.
Chevaze McGregor, 27, caused Jeremiah Regis-Ngawah a skull fracture and a bite wound.
He repeatedly struck him with a rod and a belt at the boy’s Wednesfield home, Birmingham Crown Court heard.
McGregor inflicted a string of injuries before a heavy blow which ultimately led to Jeremiah’s death.
The boy’s mother, Sindyann Regis, 25, had previously admitted allowing the toddler’s death.
Jeremiah suffered more than 100 injuries including a fractured skull and ribs.
McGregor abused him over a period of months, the court heard.
